New Name, Same Mission: Squadron 725 Is Now Squadron 109

After thirteen years as the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 725, our organization is now the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 109 of Montpelier, OH. Our mission, organizational structure, and commitment to the Legion’s youth leadership programs remains unchanged.
The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 725 was founded in 2013 by a group of Buckeye Boys State counselors to better serve the American Legion year-round.
In March 2026, Post 725 was formally dissolved by the Department of Ohio. All Sons of the American Legion squadrons cannot exist on their own and must have a sponsoring post.
Our charter application to migrate under Montpelier Post 109 was approved at the National Convention in March 2026. This new partnership would not have been possible without the leadership of Past Post Commander and Buckeye Boys State Trustee Kevin Motter.
Over the last 13 years, our organization has evolved from a group that sponsors a couple of delegates annually, to a record-breaking volunteer force that works to send 50+ delegates to the Buckeye Boys State and Buckeye Girls State programs.
We are beyond excited for this new partnership with Post 109 and this next chapter of our squadron. Thank you to everyone that has supported our organization over the last decade and we are looking forward to more decades to come.
